    In connection with Public Library Acts passed in India so far is CHHATISGARH is the new state
    where Public Library Act have been passed in the year 2008

    Punjab also passed Public Libraries Act in the year 2006. Am I wrong?

    presently library legislation passed in 18 states but in north east region only 2 union te. got the library legislation one manipur ,other is mizoram.

    Have been browsing for information regarding Library set up in Karnataka and disappointed to see that no page is opening up related to my search since almost last 5dayz!!!!!!!

    According to RRRLF web site( http://rrrlf.nic.in/lib_legislation.asp ), there are 19 states & union territories which have been passed library legislation act & in that Lakshadweep is union territory so there is only 18 states in Indian which have been passed Library Legislation Act in India.

    some has posted 16 acts other or posted as 18-19
    but as my considered latest library act is madhyapredesh library act in 2013
    along with this act total acts are 20
